一、《花木兰》经典台词赏析

千呼万唤，真人版《花木兰》终于与大家见面。而电影中那些掷地有声的台词，无疑加深了“木兰”这位东方女子形象，同样也是不可多得的双语素材。

01 忠、勇、真、孝

忠，就是“忠诚”，翻译是 loyal；

勇，就是“勇敢”，翻译是 brave；

真，就是“真实”，翻译是 true。

这三层品质是中西方文化中的重合部分，但对于最后一个“孝”字，就不像上面三个字那么好翻译了。

因为“孝”是中国传统文化极为重视的概念，俗话说，“百善孝为先”。但西方文化中却不推崇这个概念。

在电影中，“孝”字被处理成“devotion to family”，即“对家族的奉献”。

这种价值观也是普世性的，西方人也很讲究家族的荣誉感，所以西方观众看到这样的翻译，纷纷点赞支持。

02四两拨千斤

Four ounces can move 1000 pounds.

这句话在电影中出现了很多次，同样是考虑到跨文化交流的原因，把中国的计量单位“两”和“斤”换成了国外常用的单位“盎司”和“磅”。

03 出师不利

Start off on the wrong foot.

一开始见面互相看不上，出师不利，有那种歌词里唱的“第一次见面看你不太顺眼”的感觉。也可以说 get off on the wrong foot.

04逆境中绽放的花朵，才是最珍贵、最美丽的。

The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.
